Lusca is an open-source application that provides enhanced security and privacy for web servers and applications. It is composed of a collection of modules, each tackling a different security or privacy issue. It provides a range of features including protection from most popular web-based attacks (such as SQL injection, cross-site scripting, and buffer overflow), content filtering and more. Lusca also includes a reverse proxy and a load balancer, allowing servers to be efficiently distributed and monitored. Additionally, it can be configured to protect against DDoS attacks and do rate-limiting. It is also capable of caching and compressing requests to reduce the load on the server.

Discontinued From the official website, "Polipo is obsolete. When it was first written, Polipo was probably the best HTTP proxy available. Since then, web protocols have changed, and Polipo has not been kept up to date. It has no support for HTTP/2.0 or the WebSocket protocol. Polipo will no longer be maintained.
