Description

Locust is an open source, distributed, user load testing tool. It is designed to simulate thousands of users accessing a web application or website simultaneously in order to identify performance issues. It allows users to define a user behavior and resource consumption for a given website and then generate a large number of virtual users to access the website and measure the performance. Locust is written in Python, and can be used from a local machine or from a hosted environment, such as Amazon Web Services or Google Compute Engine. With Locust, users can monitor the performance of their web applications in real-time and identify scalability issues. It can also be used to test the performance of a website under heavy loads and determine the number of concurrent users it can handle.
