KeePass is an open-source password manager and secure digital wallet. It is designed to store and manage passwords, usernames, and other sensitive data with strong encryption. KeePass stores this data in an encrypted database file, which can be secured with a master password, key files, or both. It also offers secure file synchronization, portability, and multi-user support. It supports a variety of authentication methods, including two-factor authentication, and can be used to store PINs, credit card numbers, and other sensitive information. KeePass also offers plugins for various browsers and operating systems. In addition, it can autofill login information when accessing compatible websites.
It is better to use a password manager than not. By a mile. So use LastPass instead of nothing. But KeePass is preferable because a) it stores your passwords locally instead of putting them in the hands of some US company. B) LastPass doesn't encrypt your account domain names, c) KeePass is open source.
I use KeePass for credit cards and LastPass for regular accounts. They work well LastPass is easy to set up and seems secure enough.
KeePassXC is pretty much the closest solution to the cloud that I'm going to use on macOS, until the original KeePass supports macOS out of the box, without me having to install Mono and other complicated stuff.
Basically, a fork of KeePass with some newer features, updated cryptography, bug fixes incorporated on GitHub from the KeePass project, nice interface, cross-platform, allows me to import my existing KeePass database, etc.
One of the best password managers. Open source (reliable), free and works well with PassiFox for browser integration. Also provides the same experience on all platforms (Windows, Mac and Linux). It is compatible with KeePass, KeepassX, KeeWeb, etc. Very, very good. Highly recommended.
1Password is proprietary (not open source) and may not encrypt your URLs (neither does LastPass). A more reliable option is KeePass (or KeePassXC for Mac / Linux with browser integrations). If it fails, try BitWarden, which syncs like 1Password, except it is open source and encrypts your URLs.
Although it's not open source (and usually when you want an alternative to OS software, you'd naturally want to have another OS solution), you can just buy the apps and go. No monthly charges (although 1Password has a plan option) and it has a local database (unless you want to sync between multiple devices). I also think it's above KeePass because of the extensions, which greatly enhance your daily routine.

Although KeePassX lacks some of KeePass's fancy features and is slower to develop, it is native to Linux, performs much better and looks a bit better there. Still, there are issues with storing the database file in the cloud, as KeePassX does not support such services or plugins, which might help (so it relies on other software to perform the synchronization).
Local OpenSources with encrypted database is not a remote solution.
KeeWeb is KeePass compatible and open source. It has most of the major features, although it is less established and lacks add-on support to extend its functionality and provide browser integration. On the other hand, it works natively on Mac, which KeePass does not.
Enpass is not bad, but it is not completely open source. The database format locks it into the Enpass format, which other applications will not open. There is no two-factor authentication. It's hard to see the advantage over KeePass, except perhaps if you only use Macs, in which case the browser integration is smoother.

KeePass is an excellent open source password manager, but with no native Mac counterpart. MacPass tries to fill that gap in the market. Currently in beta.
