Gufw is a free and open source graphical user interface for managing a Linux iptables firewall. It's designed to be easy to use and provides a user-friendly graphical interface for controlling and configuring firewall settings. It allows users to control incoming and outgoing connections and can be used to restrict access to certain services or ports. Gufw is a great tool for users who want to set up a firewall on their Linux system without having to deal with the complexities of writing iptables commands. It also provides a range of additional features such as logging, port forwarding, and IP address filtering. Gufw is available for most Linux distributions and can be installed through the package manager.

Ufw is the firewall for which gufw is the interface. Saying gufw is an alternative to ufw is like saying that makeup is an alternative to having a face. However, both are excellent at what they do: ufw is a good firewall setup for Linux and gufw makes it easy to control with point and click. What's not to like?
