He estado jugando mucho a Civilization V recientemente. La mayoría de los fallos y problemas de rendimiento de las versiones anteriores del juego parecen haberse solucionado. El juego funciona mejor si lo ejecutas en modo DirectX 9 (te dará una opción cuando inicies el iniciador del juego). Sin embargo, en mi experiencia personal, el juego aún se vuelve loco cuando te aproximas a la curva 200. Para cuando estaba en la ronda 250, mi computadora más antigua a menudo simplemente se congelaba por 40-50 segundos entre turnos. Incluso mi nueva computadora tiene tiempos de espera de 10-20 segundos. Y como mi nueva computadora es bastante impresionante, dudo que sea un problema de hardware. O eso, o Civilization V tiene los más altos requisitos de sistema de cualquier juego de PC comercial en todo el mundo.

Compré la versión Aspyr de Civilization V hace unos meses, y funciona mucho mejor que mi antigua versión 2K del juego. Por qué hay dos compañías diferentes que distribuyen versiones separadas del mismo juego, no tengo idea. De todos modos, Civilization V ya no se congela completamente, por lo que el problema se resuelve. Desafortunadamente, el juego todavía se vuelve muy lento en los turnos posteriores. Además, cuando juego el juego en modo de ventana en Mac OS X, la ventana se atasca en el primer monitor; No puedo moverlo a mi segundo monitor, por lo que la barra de menú y la barra de menú de OS X obstruyen mi visión del juego.
