Alfred tiene un defecto fatal. Alfred indexa elementos de una variedad de fuentes: aplicaciones, mensajes, archivos, scripts, etc. Cuando un usuario envía una consulta, utiliza un algoritmo adaptativo para clasificar los elementos en función de la probabilidad de que el usuario desee este elemento. Sin embargo, el algoritmo de coincidencia de Alfred es horrible. Si ejecuta la misma consulta repetidamente en serie, el algoritmo adaptativo llega a diferentes conclusiones sobre qué elementos deseaba. Incluso si lo dice: "Cuando ingrese la consulta 'f', quiero decir que quiere ESTE ARTÍCULO ESPECÍFICO", Alfred ignorará sus instrucciones y le dará otros resultados que incluyen el término "f". El elemento que solicitó específicamente podría ser el primer resultado, o podría ser el segundo resultado, el último resultado o en ninguna parte de la lista.
