Worms is a turn-based artillery strategy game created by Team17 and released in 1995. The game is set in a 2D environment where up to four teams of worms battle each other. Players control their own teams of worms as they attempt to eliminate the opposing teams. The game is played by taking turns in which each team can move their worms around the map, jump, use weapons and tools, and attempt to destroy the other teams' worms. Weapons and tools range from simple projectiles such as bazookas and grenades, to more advanced weapons like cluster bombs and air strikes. The game also features a variety of environmental hazards such as landmines and falling objects, which can be used to the player's advantage. The game is won when all of the other teams' worms are eliminated. Worms is known for its humorous cartoon-like graphics and over-the-top sound effects, and has spawned numerous sequels and spin-offs.
On the same turn was based the Worms-inspired ballistic strategy genre. (In contrast, OpenLieroX is real-time) High-quality graphics, active maintenance, cross-platform networked games with an active community, number of game styles extended by lua scripts.
