WinGuake is an open source, drop-down terminal emulator for the GNOME desktop environment. It is designed to provide quick access to the command line while maintaining a clean graphical user interface. It is based on the popular GNOME terminal, but with a different layout and with added features such as a tabbed interface and an easy-to-use configuration dialog. WinGuake also includes many of the features of other terminal emulators, such as multiple tabs, customizable keybindings, font and color customization, and support for multiple profiles. It also provides an interface for running multiple terminals in a single window, allowing for more efficient use of screen real estate.
