Wigle.net is a free and open source application that allows users to map, chart, and share wireless networks across the world. It combines data collected through the Wardriving technique (driving around and collecting data on wireless networks) with data gathered from other sources. The app is used to help users find open wireless networks in their area, as well as to identify weak spots in their home or business network. It also can be used to identify unauthorized networks and track down malicious activity. Wigle.net also provides an API for developers to integrate its data into their own applications.
