Tux Typing is a free, open source educational software application designed to help children learn how to type. It is an educational game which features several levels of difficulty, interactive exercises, and a variety of game types to keep the user engaged and motivated. The game features a variety of characters, such as a penguin, to make the game more visually appealing and interactive. The game also includes a “practice mode” which allows the user to practice different key combinations without the pressure of a time limit. Other features include a “chart” which tracks the user’s progress, a “tutorial” to help the user improve their accuracy and speed, and various difficulty levels for the user to progress at their own pace. Tux Typing encourages the user to progress and have fun at the same time.
