Description

SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) is a server-based report generating software system from Microsoft. It is part of a suite of Microsoft SQL Server services, including SSAS (SQL Server Analysis Services) and SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services). SSRS enables users to quickly and easily create tabular, graphical, and free-form reports from relational, multidimensional, and XML-based data sources. Reports run interactively from a web-based interface or can be generated and delivered via email, shared folders, or embedded in applications. Reports are stored in a Report Server database and are processed on a server running Report Server. The web-based interface also provides management and security of the reports and their data sources. Users can easily share reports, schedule report delivery, and subscribe to reports. Reports can be exported to a variety of formats, including PDF, Excel, Word, XML, and CSV. SSRS also includes a built-in report builder tool for creating custom reports.
