Secure copy (SCP) is a type of software application or website that is used to securely copy files from one computer to another over a network. It is based on the Secure Shell (SSH) protocol and is commonly used for securely transferring files between computers and for configuring secure file transfer between two computers. With SCP, files can be copied between computers without having to expose the data to the public. It provides a secure, encrypted connection between two computers over an unsecured network. It is typically used to copy files securely between two computers, such as a local computer and a remote server. Files can be transferred both ways, from the local computer to the remote server, or from the remote server to the local computer.
