Description

Reaver is a tool designed to enable users to assess the security of their wireless networks. It is an open-source application, developed by Tactical Network Solutions, that can be used to audit the security of a Wi-Fi network by attempting to brute-force the WPA/WPA2 passphrase. It works by sending a series of special packets to the target access point, which is then used to determine the underlying WPA/WPA2 passphrase. Once the passphrase is discovered, the user can then gain access to the wireless network. Reaver can also be used to assess the strength of the passphrase by calculating the amount of time required to brute-force the passphrase. Reaver can be used to audit the security of both personal and corporate wireless networks, and can be an invaluable tool for security professionals and IT administrators.
