Proxmox Virtual Environment (VE) is an open source server virtualization platform based on the Debian Linux operating system. It is designed to make deploying and managing virtual machines and containers easy and efficient. It provides a web-based graphical user interface that allows administrators to configure, monitor and manage their virtualized environment from a single console. It supports both KVM (Kernel-based Virtual Machine) and LXC (Linux Containers) virtualization technologies, allowing users to create and manage multiple virtual machines and containers within a single physical server. It also supports a wide range of storage options, such as local storage, network storage (NFS, iSCSI), and cloud storage (OpenStack, Amazon S3, etc). Proxmox VE also features high availability clustering, live migration of virtual machines, and integrated backup and restore capabilities. By using Proxmox VE, businesses can achieve significant cost savings and improved flexibility by consolidating their IT environment into a single virtualized platform.
