Description

PeerBlock is a software application that is used to control access to and from a computer over the Internet. It allows users to block or permit incoming and outgoing connections to and from IP addresses and networks. It can be used to protect a computer from malicious or unwanted connections, or to prevent the sharing and downloading of copyrighted materials. It works by creating a list of IP addresses and networks that you want to block from accessing your computer. These can be manually entered or imported from a database. PeerBlock also supports lists created by other users and organizations. Once these lists are in place, PeerBlock monitors all incoming and outgoing connections and blocks any connections from IP addresses or networks on the list. Users can also customize the level of protection they wish to have, allowing only certain types of connections or allowing connections from certain IP addresses or networks.
