OpenTyrian is an open source port of the classic DOS game Tyrian, developed by Epic MegaGames. It was released in 1996 and was a fast-paced shoot-em-up game. In OpenTyrian, you pilot a space ship and fight your way through levels of enemies in a top-down perspective. The game is divided into 5 levels, each consisting of several stages. The objective is to reach the end of the level by destroying all enemies and completing the bonus objectives. OpenTyrian features detailed 2D graphics, an expansive soundtrack, and intense action. You can choose from a variety of weapons and powerups that can be used to upgrade your ship. You can also customize your ship with a variety of colors and designs. OpenTyrian also has a multiplayer mode, allowing you to play with up to 4 players.
