OpenEmu is an open-source multi-system game emulator for Mac OS X. It aims to provide a comprehensive multi-system emulation experience for Mac users, allowing them to play classic console and arcade games from a variety of systems, including NES, SNES, Sega Genesis, Game Boy and more. OpenEmu features a graphical user interface (GUI) that allows users to easily select games and configure settings, as well as a "Core" system which supports a wide range of emulators and controllers. OpenEmu also includes support for save states, on-screen controls, and cheats. Additionally, it can save and load game progress in a variety of formats, and supports network and internet play.

It will run on anything, the low cost of the hardware makes it affordable for any budget.
Both provide good library interfaces and ways to organize game backups, plus being able to choose different shaders for different systems and being able to choose an emulator core separately from the main GUI that stays the same.

Openemu is a multi emulation software. VisualBoyAdvance emulates only one system.
