Norton Power Eraser is a free security and privacy application from Symantec, the makers of Norton antivirus software. It is designed to detect and remove deeply embedded and difficult-to-remove malicious threats like rootkits, fake antivirus, ransomware and rogue security software, which traditional virus scanning does not always detect. It uses a number of powerful scan techniques to target and eliminate these types of threats. It can also be used to remove annoying browser toolbars and other potentially unwanted programs. It runs on Windows operating systems.
