Microsoft Virtual Machine Converter (MVMC) is an application that enables IT professionals to convert virtual machines and disks from VMware hosts to Hyper-V hosts and Windows Azure. It helps administrators to easily migrate virtual machines from VMware to Hyper-V and Windows Azure and perform physical-to-virtual (P2V) and virtual-to-virtual (V2V) conversions. The application supports bulk conversions of multiple virtual machines or disks and enables administrators to preserve existing VMware configurations, such as memory, CPU, and disk allocations. It also has the ability to convert virtual machines from other virtualization solutions such as Microsoft Virtual PC, Oracle Virtual Box, and Citrix XenServer. MVMC also allows administrators to customize the virtual hardware configuration of the migrated virtual machine and perform a V2V conversion of an existing VMware virtual machine to a Hyper-V virtual machine. It also supports the migration of virtual machines from one Hyper-V host to another. The application is available in both GUI and command-line versions and is compatible with Windows Server 2008 and later versions.
