MathType is an educational and reference application that allows users to create and edit mathematical equations, formulas, and symbols. It provides a wide range of features that allow users to work with mathematical equations and symbols more efficiently. It supports a variety of different equation formats including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, LaTeX, and MathML. MathType also includes tools for managing equations, such as the ability to copy, paste, and resize equations within equations. Additionally, users can insert equations into other applications, such as web pages, emails, and spreadsheets. The application also includes a variety of templates and tools for creating equations, as well as an equation library to store equations for future use.
As far as I know, Overleaf is very convenient (I use it a lot) but it does not have graphical editing of formulas.
A good free alternative for Ubuntu ... easy to use, much better than LibreOffice equation editor.

It has the ability to edit equations, albeit through LaTeX. And it's a really lovely tool!
