Description

LIRC (Linux Infrared Remote Control) is an open source application that allows users to control various devices in their home or office using infrared signals. It is a software-based remote control system which can be used to control a computer, TV, DVD player, music player, or any other device that has an infrared receiver. The application works by receiving signals from a compatible infrared remote control and then translating them into commands that the computer can understand. With LIRC, users can easily automate tasks such as changing the volume or channel on their TV, playing a specific song, or launching a program. It also allows users to control multiple devices at once, such as turning on the TV and DVD player at the same time.
