Halite Programming Challenge is an open-source artificial intelligence programming competition hosted by Two Sigma. It is designed to foster creativity and collaboration among artificial intelligence researchers and developers around the world. The challenge consists of developing a bot that can compete against other bots in a simulated two-dimensional environment. The competition is designed to teach how to program an agent that can outplay the other bots in this environment. The challenge is split into two stages: the Qualifiers and the Finals. In the Qualifiers, participants will be provided with a starter bot and will use their own code to modify it. The top performing bots from the Qualifiers move on to the Finals, where they will compete against each other in a series of tournaments. The winner of the Finals will be crowned the Halite Programming Champion. The challenge is open to anyone who is interested in programming, regardless of experience level.
