Description

Geocaching is an outdoor recreational activity, in which participants use GPS-enabled devices such as smartphones, or dedicated GPS receivers, to hide and seek containers called "geocaches" or "caches". A typical cache is a small waterproof container containing a logbook and "treasure", usually toys or trinkets of little monetary value. Geocachers enter the coordinates of their cache into the Geocaching website or app, and then other geocachers can attempt to locate it by entering the coordinates into their GPS device. The goal of geocaching is to have fun outdoors, be it in a park, a city, the countryside, or any other location. It is a great way to explore new places and meet other people who share a passion for the outdoors. Geocaching also encourages physical activity and can be a great educational tool for kids, as it teaches them about navigation, geography, and the environment.
