Description

dvdisaster is a free open source application designed to help protect computer data stored on optical media, such as CDs and DVDs. It uses a sophisticated error correction algorithm to generate error correction data which can be used to recover data from discs that have become unreadable due to physical damage or aging. The application can also be used to create an image of a disc which can be stored and used to recreate the original disc at a later date. The application is available for Windows, Mac, and Linux.
