Dungeons & Dragons Online (DDO) is an online role-playing game based on the popular pen and paper game, Dungeons & Dragons (D&D). It is a Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game (MMORPG) published by the company, Turbine Inc. in 2006. Players create a character (or characters) and explore virtual worlds, including the city of Stormreach and the surrounding lands. As they progress, they can level up their characters, acquire new skills and equipment, and partake in a variety of activities, such as battling monsters, engaging in interactive quests, and joining player guilds. Players have the choice of playing in either a free-to-play or subscription model. The game also includes a robust character customization system and an extensive character creation process. Players can choose from various races and classes, customize their characters with physical traits, and purchase weapons and armor. The game is available for both PC and Mac operating systems.
Neverwinter offers very few options, almost all identical, and has removed all the interesting flavor of D&D.
