CodeAnywhere and Cloud9 operate through a web browser. IntelliJ IDEA is installed 100% locally. Development environments can be difficult to configure and/or require a large amount of disk space. CodeAnywhere and Cloud9 solve this problem. IntelliJ and Coda do not.
