Description

CMUD (or "Cable Modem User Datagram") is an Internet protocol designed to provide reliable and efficient data transfer for cable modems. It is based on the User Datagram Protocol (UDP) and is a modified version of the TCP/IP protocol. The main purpose of CMUD is to allow cable modems to more quickly send and receive data over the Internet. It is designed to reduce latency and improve throughput when sending and receiving large amounts of data. CMUD is compatible with most cable modems and is used by many ISPs to improve the speed and reliability of their services. CMUD is also used in some video streaming applications and other interactive applications.
