Description

CDE (Common Desktop Environment) is a graphical user interface (GUI) developed by the Open Group and based on the Motif toolkit. It was released in 1993 and is the default desktop environment for UnixWare, Solaris, and HP-UX operating systems. It provides a desktop environment for users to perform common tasks, such as launching applications, managing files and folders, setting up printers, and using the Internet. It includes a desktop background, icons, menus, toolbars, and widgets that allow users to perform various tasks. CDE also includes a file manager, a text editor, an image viewer, and more. CDE has been replaced by more modern desktop environments such as GNOME and KDE, but it continues to be used by some organizations and individuals.
