Ashampoo Snap is an easy-to-use yet powerful screenshot and video recording software. It allows you to capture, edit, and share screenshots and videos of your computer's screen. With Ashampoo Snap, you can easily take screenshots of your entire screen or just a part of it, and save it as a JPEG, PNG, or BMP file. It also enables you to add annotations, arrows, and shapes to your screenshot, as well as to blur out sensitive information. For video recording, Ashampoo Snap can record both audio and video, and it supports multiple codecs. It also allows you to capture video from your webcam, and add text and images to your video. After creating your screenshots and videos, you can easily share them with your friends, family, or colleagues using a variety of methods, such as email, FTP, or social media.
Discontinued The project seems to be no longer developed. The latest version, 2.7 r316, released in May 2015, can still be downloaded from SourceForge.
Warning As described in the VirusTotal comment (https://www.virustotal.com/en/file/1ddb733efb11769a05cc735d555e9a4df92c4cdf29fa47ea3864e57e67dcf884/analysis/1411383540/): if you download CamStudio from the chest of things in the type of material on which it is installed. After installing this version of SF, it immediately says that there is an update available. When you click on the link, it takes you to camstudio.org, which has a zip file that, scanned with VirusTotal, gives you a score of 15/53. So do NOT download and install the "update": it is malware. Installer as of 09/22/2014.
