With Amazon WorkSpaces, you can easily create and manage virtual desktops in the cloud, eliminating the need for hardware, maintenance, and upfront capital expenses associated with traditional desktops. Amazon WorkSpaces virtual desktops are powered by Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) instances and feature the Windows, Linux, and Amazon WorkSpaces Application Manager (WAM) operating systems. The Windows and Linux versions offer a variety of applications and tools that you can use to create documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and more. The WAM operating system allows you to manage applications and settings in a single, web-based console. With Amazon WorkSpaces, you can also securely connect to on-premises resources from your virtual desktop, and manage user access with AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM).
